Cherry Cola BLT Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 cup Shasta Cherry Cola
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 7-8 strips of bacon
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- Fresh lettuce leaves
- 2-3 slices of ripe tomato
- 1 burger bun
- Butter for brushing
Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together Shasta Cherry Cola, soy sauce, brown sugar, and smoked paprika until smooth and well-mixed. Arrange the bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the glaze generously over each strip, ensuring they are fully coated. Bake in the oven at 400°F for 5–6 minutes or until the bacon is golden, crispy, and caramelized. Remove from the oven and let the bacon cool slightly. Cut the burger bun in half and brush the outside with butter. Toast the bun in an oven or air fryer for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden and crispy. Spread mayonnaise on both halves of the toasted bun. On the bottom half, layer fresh lettuce, slices of tomato, and the glazed bacon. Repeat with another layer of lettuce and tomato if desired, then place the top half of the bun over the fillings. To complete the meal, pour a glass of Shasta Cherry Cola over ice. The fizzy sweetness of the soda is a perfect companion to the smoky, savory sandwich.
