Cola BBQ Chicken Wings
- 1 & 1/2 pounds of chicken wings
- 6 oz Shasta Cola
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to tasteÂ
- Red paprika to tasteÂ
- Oil to sprayÂ
- Vegetable blend of choiceÂ
Mix Shasta Cola, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, salt, and paprika in a bowl until brown sugar dissolves*. Reserve ⅓ of the mixture and marinate chicken wings in the remaining sauce for 3-4 hours or overnight. Preheat air fryer to 350°F and place wings in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Spray with oil. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway until crispy and thoroughly cooked. In the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, brush the wings with half of the reserved marinade for extra flavor. Save the rest for dipping. The wings are done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Transfer the chicken wings to a platter. Serve with veggies and extra marinade for dipping and enjoy! *To achieve the best results, the marinade should have a thin consistency to start, as the glaze tends to thicken throughout the cooking process.
